How to Plan a Walt Disney World Vacation in 4 Days

Worried you don’t have enough time to visit Disney in 4 days? You definitely can fit a magical Disney vacation into 4 days, but it will take some preparation and planning. Here is a great way to fit in everything in just a few days.

Day 1 - Check in day

Walt Disney Resorts check in time is 4:00. Get to your resort a little early and have a chance to explore the resort and check out where you are staying. When you check in, take your time unpacking and prepare for your fun 4 days ahead.

For dinner, take a bus from your resort over to Disney Springs. Disney Springs offers 62 different dining experiences to choose from, having any type of cuisine you would like. Get some shopping in and stop by Disney’s Springs 100 different shops. This would be a great time to get anything you would need for the day, souvenirs, or any Disney merchandise you are looking for. Watch the sun set over the lake and watch live music at the AdventHealth Waterside Stage. Then head back to your resort for a great night’s sleep before your first day at Walt Disney World.

Day 2 – Magic Kingdom

The first full day at Disney is a great time to visit the Magic Kingdom! One of the biggest tips is to get to the park at least 30 minutes before the park opens. Getting there before the park opens gives you the chance to walk onto many rides and miss the long lines. The ride most people go to first is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. If you are wanting to ride this ride, go there first. Any of the bigger rides or roller coasters that usually have long lines, this is the time to ride them.

After spending the morning riding all the fun rides you can and when the lines start to get too long to wait in, head back to your hotel for lunch and relax by the pool. This is a great time to take advantage of the resort pool area and have some fun in the Florida sun! After unwinding in the pool area, try taking a nap and getting some rest before enjoying the rest of the night.

Feeling refreshed from the afternoon, now is the perfect time to head back to the Magic Kingdom and catch some shows and parades. Grab dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern where you can eat a family style dinner the whole family will indulge in. After dinner make sure you get a good spot to watch the fireworks before heading back to your resort and prepare for day 3.

Day 3 – Epcot and Hollywood Studios

The morning of day 3 make sure you have a great breakfast to prepare for this packed day! First, spend the morning early at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and start out the day rising as many of the larger rides as you can before the rides get long. If you get to the park before they open, you should be able to walk on all the larger rides within the first two hours of the park opening. After riding the rides, stop by a few shows and watch a character cavalcade! Grab lunch and cool off indoors at the ABC commissary. This restaurant has great food and an affordable price.

After spending the morning at Hollywood Studios, head over to Epcot to spend your evening. Start off the night riding a few rides. Make sure you make it to the Land and Sea pavilions. While visiting the Land pavilion, make sure to ride Sorin’ and Living With The Land. Over at the Sea pavilion, visit Turtle Talk with Crush and find your way around the aquarium.

Later, head over to The World Showcase and grab dinner. Epcot has 4 festivals that go on throughout the year, Festival of the Arts, Flower & Garden, Food & Wine, and Festival of the Holidays. If there is a festival going on when you are there, I would recommend eating your way around the world. Grab a small portion throughout the countries will give you the chance to try delicacies from around the world. If there is not a festival going on, make a reservation at your favorite country to eat at.

Before heading back to your resort make sure you catch Epcots new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious. This new nightly show has it all, fireworks, projections, and water features.

Day 4 – Animal Kingdom and Check Out

Wake up early on your last day here and head over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Get to the park before it opens and be one of the first to ride Avatar Flight of Passage. Following that, make sure you check out the safari early in the morning while the animals are all active. Don’t forget to stop by the petting zoo so the kids can play with the animals before heading home.

After riding the morning rides, head back to your resort before checking out and enjoy your time before heading home hanging out at the resort and take advantage of the great amenities your resort has. If you have extra time before heading back home, go back to Animal Kingdom and finish out your day riding rides and watching great shows.

While your 4 days will be packed with activities, you will be bringing home memories that will last a lifetime. One tip to remember is take advantage of naps in the middle of the day to catch up on sleep and make sure to take time to just relax and spend time with your family. Make sure you plan ahead what activities are important to your family, and what shows and rides you defiantly want to see and do.
